See what happens inside the puck.
The app records pressure from your Pressensor and weight from your scale, then draws pressure and flow as curves you can read, compare and share. This guide takes you from an unopened app to your first analysed shot.
A Pressensor
Fitted to your machine with a battery in. It stays discoverable as long as it has power, so there is nothing to switch on.
Your phone
iOS or Android, with Bluetooth switched on. The app is free and fully functional.
A scale optional
Any supported Bluetooth scale adds weight, flow rate and brew ratio to every shot.
The home screen
Everything you touch before a shot

Connection status
Two rows, two devices: your Pressensor and your scale. Both read Connected once the app has found them. The gear opens the device settings, where connections are managed.

Autostart threshold
The dial sets the pressure at which recording begins. Live pressure is printed underneath it, so you can watch the sensor react before you commit to a setting.

Dose and tare
Enter the dry dose you ground; the app needs it to work out your brew ratio. Set stores it for the shots that follow. Tare shows what your scale reports right now.

Start
With Auto on you never press it: the shot records itself when pressure crosses your threshold. Switch Auto off and this button starts and stops the recording by hand.

Reference brew, beans, equipment
Shortcuts to what you are brewing and what you are brewing it on. A reference brew draws a past shot faintly behind the live one, so you can chase a curve you already like.

Home, Shots, My Setup
Home is where you pull the shot, Shots keeps every recording you have made, and My Setup is where your machines, grinders and beans live.
Turn the phone sideways
Landscape spreads the same controls across the screen: the dial and your dose on one side, beans and equipment on the other. This is the view to leave propped against the machine while you brew.
Your first shot
Four things, then pull as usual
STEP ONE
Open the app, not the sensor
Start with the machine idle. The Pressensor is always advertising, so both indicators should turn to Connected on their own.
STEP TWO
Enter your dose
Type the dry weight you ground and press Set. Without it the app still records the shot, but it cannot work out your brew ratio.
STEP THREE
Set the trigger and leave it
Choose the pressure that means the shot has started on your machine, switch Auto on, and put the phone down. Nothing to press while your hands are busy.
STEP FOUR
Brew
Recording begins on pressure and counts your yield from zero, so a cup you forgot to tare will not spoil the numbers. Stop the pump; the shot is already saved.
Reading the result
The curve, and what to look for
The two curves
Teal is pressure in bar, coral is flow in grams per second. Read them together: pressure is what you asked of the puck, flow is what it gave you.
Scrub the timeline
Drag across the graph and the readout follows: time, pressure and flow at that instant. This is how you find the second a channel opened.
The five numbers
Average flow, peak pressure, final weight, brew ratio (shown as a percentage) and total time: the summary worth keeping when a shot turns out well.
Name the good ones. The pencil retitles a shot, the heart keeps it, and the share icon sends either a picture of the curve or the raw data. A shot you have named is a shot you can set as a reference brew next week.
If something looks wrong
Three quick checks
The sensor will not connect
Check the battery first. A Pressensor with power is always discoverable, so one that never appears is either flat, out of range, or already connected to another device.
Pressure does not sit at zero
Zero the sensor while the machine is idle and the group is at rest. It reads gauge pressure, so the zero point is a reference you set, not a fault.
Recording starts on a flush
Raise the autostart threshold above the pressure your flush reaches, or switch Auto off and start by hand on the days you are only rinsing.
